Add music to your swim

Bring your favorite songs, podcasts, and audiobooks into the water with the open-ear, bone conduction Suunto Aqua headphones.

Pair them with your smartphone using Bluetooth or take them to your swims and training with 32GB of offline audio storage so you can leave your phone on dry land.

Open for what is out there

With their open-ear design and weighing in at just 35 grams, these headphones are so minimalist, you’ll forget you’re even wearing them; you’ll be just as comfortable on the last stroke as the first. And for long sessions, the Suunto Aqua’s 10 hours of audio playback can be boosted to a total of 30 hours with the portable powerbank.

Made for water

An IP68 rating ensures the Suunto Aqua delivers reliable performance in all aquatic environments. These headphones are tested at depths up to 5 meters for up to 2 hours, making them equally suited for open-water swims and afternoon lap sessions alike.

Train smarter, swim better

These open-ear bone conduction headphones are built to move with you as you swim far, run hard, and pedal full force. But Suunto Aqua doesn’t just entertain; it improves performance, too. Suunto Aqua can identify stroke posture, head pitch angle, breath frequency, and glide time so you can track, analyse, and adjust your technique with Suunto app for a more efficient swim.

Intuitive and customizable

No more fumbling with clunky user interfaces. A multifunction button and two +/- buttons mean you have everything you need to control your headphones with a fingertip. All buttons are fully customizable within Suunto app, so you can fine-tune to suit your preferences. Dive in, jam out, and swim your way.

Hooked in and Hands-free

In addition to analyzing your swimming technique, Suunto Aqua can monitor mobility as well as neck and muscle fatigue. Meanwhile, Head Movement Control lets you answer and hang up phone calls and change audio tracks hands-free.

Boost your headphones with Suunto app

Unlock the full potential of the Suunto Aqua with Suunto app. This app allows you to dial in all aspects of your headphones, from music storage and management to button customization, swim analysis, and more.

good for triathletes

i like these a lot but i tend to listen to audio books which are hours long. Oftentimes the headphone resets (crashes or after a recharge) and it starts from the beginning so i haven't quite been able to finish one.For swimming, i get metrics for pool ok. On open water, it thinks im doing breastroke when sighting. The suunto app is primarily for running and swimming doesn't have much support. The playlist thing is what Aftershokz doesn't have but i wish i could also use it to fasforward into the middle of an audiobook when it restarts. The head movement to answer calls has worked a couple of times when biking but one time it did not. I wish we could use some movement to invoke an assistant (currently one has to press a button for 3s which is inconvenient while biking).

Good sound. Kludgy user interface and documentation.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my Suunto Aqua. I didn't buy it for swimming but for wearing at the gym. I really do not want to drag my phone around with me at the gym. So, for me, the feature that sold me on this device was the ability to create playlists. My husband has a Shokz headset, which also has storage to play music/podcasts offline but no ability to create playlists. The Aqua has some odd quirks in the user interface. It can't handle folders, so all the songs are saved in one folder. When you use the app to create a playlist, it displays the files in the order they were copied to the device and you have to just scroll through the list. No search or filter functionality at all. You can save about 8,000 songs on an Aqua, so you can imagine how tedious can be to manage playlists once you've saved a lot of music. I've been renaming every mp3 to add a prefix with the name of the artist to make it easier to manage playlists in the long term. I feel like I got a beta release of the app.The documentation is rudimentary at best. Telephone support is a joke. All they can do is send you links to YouTube. All that said, I'd buy it again, simply because it is currently the only headphone that allows you to store a lot of music and create playlists. I'm happy with the sound quality. Battery life and charging are good. Seems OK for Bluetooth connectivity but I don't use that feature often.
