How to check out at Suunto with HSA/FSA funds

How Does Using My HSA/FSA Save Money?

HSAs/FSAs were created so individuals could use pretax money to pay for expenses used to treat, mitigate or prevent a diagnosed medical condition. Since HSAs/FSAs use pretax money, you’re getting more purchasing power for your dollars. Rather than pay taxes on income and then spend it on health items, qualified customers can use pre-tax funds to invest in root cause interventions.

FAQ

Using HSA/FSA funds saves you your income tax rate because you're paying with pre-tax dollars. Qualified customers save an average of 30%.* This is not a discount on your product. You pay full price, and the savings come from the tax advantage of your HSA/FSA account.

There is no cost to you.

A health savings account (HSA) and flexible spending account (FSA) are programs that allow you to set aside pretax dollars for eligible health care expenses. If you’re unsure whether or not you have an HSA or FSA, please check with your employer or insurance company.

This is one of the most common issues. There are a few likely causes:

You're signed into Shop Pay. You need to log out and check out as a guest.

The specific product hasn’t been set up in Truemed’s system yet.

The product isn’t eligible for HSA/FSA coverage.

You're shopping on a third-party site (Amazon, Best Buy, etc.) instead of our direct site. Truemed only works on our website.

For most HSA/FSA administrators, your expenses will be approved within days when you submit your claim for reimbursement along with your receipt and a Letter of Medical Necessity. The exact timing will vary based on your administrator.

If you have already received a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) for purchasing HSA/FSA-eligible products from Suunto, you do not need to complete Truemed’s survey again if your LMN remains valid. Letters of Medical Necessity are typically valid for 12 months after they are first issued. You do still need to submit your receipts for reimbursement with your HSA/FSA administrator.

The items in your Truemed LMN are qualified medical expenses similar to how a visit to the doctor’s office or pharmaceutical products are.

Thousands of studies show that food and exercise are often the best medicine to prevent and reverse disease. Exercise is a qualified medical expense with an LMN. Other wellness purchases qualify as medical expenses if they treat or prevent an illness and a doctor substantiates the need. Your Truemed LMN satisfies all IRS requirements to make your wellness spend fully reimbursable.

After completing the clinical intake form, you will receive your LMN via your Truemed dashboard at truemed.com.

Most LMNs are issued within a few hours, though it can take up to 1-2 business days.

If you haven’t received your LMN, we suggest you:

Log into your Truemed dashboard to check the status.

Check your spam or junk folder for emails from Truemed.

Make sure you completed the full clinical intake form (it may have timed out or been left incomplete).

If none of that resolves it, contact support@truemed.com.

You can:

Check your HSA/FSA account balance.

Confirm your card is activated and not expired.

Contact your card issuer to ask about the reason for the decline.

Pay with a regular card instead, then submit for reimbursement using your LMN and receipt.

Please contact support@truemed.com so they can help you troubleshoot the issue. HSA/FSA plan administrators often have detailed requirements, so it may be as simple as reissuing your Letter of Medical Necessity using the administrator’s form.
